How It Works
The Imaging Process
Once you have booked your appointment you will be asked to complete a medical history form to assist the Thermologist with their analysis of the images. There is a strict protocol to be followed on the day of the appointment to ensure optimum imaging results. This information will be sent to you when you book your first appointment. Please read this thoroughly at least a day before your imaging appointment.
Imaging takes place in a climate controlled room and once there, you will be asked to undress from the waist up for Mammothermograms® (breast imaging) so your skin can be exposed for imaging and acclimatise to the surrounding room temperature. If your appointment includes a Bodythermogram® (body imaging) a gown will be supplied.
The images are then captured in real time using a highly sophisticated digital infrared camera system and stored for comparison of future images so that a baseline can be achieved. The images provide a clear view to vascular patterns, temperature differentials and possible pathological conditions. Once the images have been analysed you will receive your full medical report together with a full set of your images and information on understanding the report by email or post. You will be invited for your next Mammotherogram® (breast imaging appointment) in 3, 6 or 12 months which will be determined by the interpreting doctor. Should you have any queries regarding the report you have the option of arranging a telephone conversation with one of our Clinical Thermologist.
